General Policy Statement
It is the policy of SPB Plant & Tool Hire Ltd to:
• Comply with current statute law
• To provide safe plant and equipment suitable to meet customers requirements
• Provide a place of work that is safe and without risk to the health and welfare of all its employees, customers, independent contractors, members of associated companies and the general public
• Identify hazards and assess risks that can be foreseen and ensure that appropriate protective and preventative measures are implemented for employees, customers, independent contractors and general public
• Institute in each work place written safety plans and procedures
• Identify and provide appropriate training and ensure competence
• Involve all of our colleagues with H&S and make safety an integral part of everyone’s role and accountability
• Set objectives and drive continuous improvements to health, safety and welfare performance
• Monitor the performance of safety objectives and activities against this policy statement
• Commit the required resources to implement this policy and make regular reviews, initiating improvements where possible

• All employees have a duty under law to cooperate with SPB Hire to ensure we meet our obligations with Health & Safety
• Working safely is a condition of employment and all employees are expected to work to any established rules and procedures
• We encourage staff to consider their actions and to ensure that they do not do anything that will intentionally injure themselves or others working in the vicinity.
• Each business function has a responsibility to ensure that our colleagues are adequately trained and capable of undertaking the roles allocated to them
